Members of our Eye-Tracking Group took part in the 2026 ACM Symposium on Eye Tracking Research & Applications (ETRA 2026), held in Marrakech, Morocco — the field’s principal international venue.
Stanislav Popelka, head of the laboratory, served on the organizing committee as Short Paper Chair and co-organized the ETVIS workshop held within the conference. He presented the paper Visitor and Kangaroo as a Large-Scale AOI-Structured Yarbus Replication Dataset (Popelka, Facevicová, Vymazal, & Beitlová, 2026), which contributes a large-scale, AOI-structured dataset replicating Yarbus’s classic work on task-driven visual attention. https://doi.org/10.1145/3797246.3806792
Michaela Vojtěchovská also contributed to organizing the ETVIS workshop and presented Visualization Lenses for Time-Binned AOI Occupancy in Eye-Tracking Analysis (Vojtěchovská, Beitlová, & Popelka, 2026), which introduces visualization lenses for examining how attention is distributed across areas of interest over time-binned intervals. https://doi.org/10.1145/3797246.3805723
Beyond the formal programme, the conference was an opportunity to raise awareness of our open-source tool GazePlotter and to meet directly with its users from the international eye-tracking community.
